During the week I got the chance to catch up with Burning Angels model Daisy ‘Sparky’ Sparks to ask some up close and personal questions that many were wondering.
In your teens were you sexually active or a late bloomer?
I was pretty sexually active as a youngster. My first kiss was in pre-school. When I was 12, I had this encounter where I made out with a guy while another guy was eating me out. I think that’s pretty active for a youngin’.
How old were you when you lost your virginity?
15, almost 16 with an 18 year old. We ended up dating for nearly two years and we both lost our virginity to each other in the middle of watching Return to Oz.
What was your first job?
You know those assholes who stand on the corner spinning signs advertising new housing developments, referred to as “human directionals”? Yes, that was me. But only for four days. When I was little, I put beads on safety pins and sold them for $0.50 to neighbors, if that counts.
When and why did you decide you wanted to be a porn star?
I wouldn’t consider myself to be porn star. I’ve done a total of four DVD’s in the past year, and countless internet scenes, but still… the term “Porn Star” is so Jenna Jameson. Either way, I decided to do porn because it was a fantastic way for me to explore my sexuality in a very open and nondiscriminatory way. And it’s just cool to work for 2 hours, have a shitload of fun, fuck, and then get handed a fat check after.
How did you get into the industry?
I was modeling for alt sites like godsgirls.com as “Daisy” when I had applied to model for Burningangel.com as well. Zero Tolerance (a large porn company) had come to Montreal (where I was living at the time) to shoot content. James Deen, the boyfriend of Joanna Angel who is the owner of Burning Angel was there as the male talent. Joanna came to visit and wanted to shoot content for her site as well, when I was contacted to ask if I wanted to shoot some photos and possibly a scene. I ended up shooting a threesome with Joanna Angel and James Deen that is now out on DVD (Joanna Angel’s Magical Adventure Threesome Experience) and the rest is history.
Before you went into porn did you have a favorite porn star is? If yes who and why?
Sasha Grey. I find her to be so beautiful and soulful, as well as fucking crazy in the sack. I love it. It’s inspiring!
Do you attend high school reunions? If yes how do former classmates react to your career choice?
Well… I’m only recently turned 21, soo… But obviously old schoolmates and teachers know about my profession from facebook, myspace, etc. I only know of mostly positive reactions, and surprised reactions. When I was in high school, I was not the “pretty” one, I was overweight and pretty insecure, and I wasn’t very popular. Honestly I am probably considered to be the last person from school that people would expect to get into porn. So I’m sure people are pretty surprised to find this out. But I am also known for generally not giving a shit, and liking to do crazy things that people don’t expect… so maybe it’s more expected then I think.
Do you keep in touch with any of your old high school boyfriends? If yes do they watch your scenes?
I didn’t have many high school boyfriends, but I know of at least two ex-boyfriends who have seen my porn. One is pretty surprised, and probably jealous of the fact that I now take it in the ass and deepthroat like a mother fucker, and the other one refers to me as a “daughter of satan”, hahaha… soooo…
I have seen a few of your shoots and some are wild, but do you have any no-no rules?
If yes what are they and how do you communicate these to co stars? I don’t have any real no-no’s except that I don’t do scat stuff, nor do I do bestiality. But for the most part, anything goes.
From your career to date, what’s your favorite shoot and favorite co-star?
My favorite shoot by far was my anal scene with Steve Holmes that came out in Fuck Me in the Bathroom 3. Steve Holmes is absolutely incredible. I’m so fortunate to have done a scene with him.
Who haven’t you worked with but would love the opportunity to in the future?
I’d love to work with Regan Reese, definitely. Actually we have plans to shoot a scene for her site soon.
Because of your unique tattoos, it’s quite easy to recognize you, so do you get people coming up to you in the street? If yes have you had any ‘weird’ or ‘awkward’ experiences?
No, not really actually. Most often, I get friends of friends that say, “Omg.. you’re friends with her?! I’ve seen her porn!” I think that’s pretty funny. A lot of the times people say to me that I look familiar and then I’ll ask if they watch porn, and then it’ll all come together.
For any girls thinking of getting into porn what would you say are both the best and worst parts?
Best: You get a lot of free shit (including tattoos!), good money, good sex, you get in places for free, meet a lot of cool people, get to explore your sexuality. Worst: Sometimes you get screwed (literally & figuratively speaking, haha), sometimes you get dicked around (again both literally and figuratively), agents lie to you, you see the worst in humanity at sometimes (seeing dishonesty, false promises, unreliability in people), etc.
You currently don’t have your own website, do you have any plans to bring one out in the future?
Hmm, possibly if my boyfriend agrees to be my cock jock.
