In China a man only known by ‘Qu’ was wanted by police for allegedly stealing dozens of electric bicycles in Anyang, central China’s Henan province.
The only problem for Qu was that he was captured on multiple surveillance cameras and spotted by a shit load of witnesses. When I was a kid walking along the footpath following my family, often I would see the post box and wonder what it was like inside. Every now and then I would get small glimpses as the postmen just happened have the door of it open while he was pulling out the letters from inside.
Even with these few ‘sneak peaks’ the curiosity of what it would feel like to be able to look out the little letter hole at people as they either walked by or posted a letter never died. Back in the stone age it must have been awesome to be a man, not only could you do whatever the fuck you wanted without repute but also when you spoke the rest of the tribe probably had to listen. There was no such thing as cash so a few smooth rocks and a dead animal could have got you anything your heart so desired.
Let’s compare that to modern day (of course adjusting for inflation), so for example how much would you pay for a woman these days since rocks and meat just ain’t worth what they used to.
